On WhatsApp it will be possible to silence a conversation forever thanks to a new tool: this is how it works

How many times have you thought: “How can I silence a chat on WhatsApp forever?”, But you couldn’t do it because there is no ad hoc tool? WhatsApp developers are also thinking of solving this problem by improving a function already present in the app. As you well know, every user has the possibility to change the notifications of a chat for a certain amount of time: eight hours, a week or a year. Now we are thinking of replacing the one year option with “Always”.

The news, as usual, comes from the WaBetaInfo guys who discovered this novelty in the “Functions in development” list present in the version of WhatsApp beta for Android number 2.20.197.3. This means that the tool is not yet available to everyone, but is under development and they are testing it internally. Since this is a change that does not have a big impact on the code level, but that can prove very useful for a large number of users, the release in the “normal” version of WhatsApp could also take place quite quickly.
How to change a WhatsApp chat forever

Silencing a WhatsApp group forever is a dream that many users have, especially when you are added to some very large and uninteresting groups. Until now, the only weapon available to users was the ability to silence a chat for up to a year, but now things will change: the developers are creating a new tool that allows you to change a group or chat forever.

To silence a WhatsApp conversation, you need to enter the chat, access the menu and press the “Disable notifications” item. A menu appears on the screen with three different options: 8 hours, 1 week and 1 year. In WhatsApp plans, the 1 year option will be replaced with “Always”. In this way, the user no longer has to worry about changing conversations at the end of the year.
When the new feature will arrive

As announced by the WaBetaInfo guys, the tool is under development and they are testing it internally. The first news appeared on the beta version of WhatsApp for Android number 2.20.197.3. Compared to other functions in progress that require much more work, such as the possibility of using the same WhatsApp profile on four devices simultaneously, this is quite simple and could be released for everyone already in the coming weeks.
